And Speaking of the Weird

There were only two calls in this week’s edition of Police Beat that made me wonder what kind of people used to be my neighbors….

2:19 p.m. Caller advised that people were trying to move a trailer out and the company that owns the park had advised to block the trailer so it could not be moved and now there was a verbal altercation going on and the people had tried to run over the caller and family with their vehicle.

3:50 a.m. Caller advised that she is getting harassing phone calls from someone that she doesn’t know. Caller stated she didn’t know whose number it was. Upon police arrival, Caller advised the officers that a man has called her asking about sexual fantasies and her husband. The man called again and officers told him not to call anymore. The man would not provide his name, but he said he could call and record the conversation due to Nebraska being a “one party state.”

Odds and Ends

Something about the end of the month tends to make me get into gear and tie up loose ends. Maybe it’s the deadlines.

I realized today that I had one day left to renew my car registration. Earlier this year, it was found that the online version had several security issues and it was taken down. This means that I need to go in person as I also needed to change my address and I once again need to request that they take my ex-husband’s name off the records. He doesn’t even live in this state! Well, at least not to my knowledge…

Outcome is that I have 2 out of 3 accomplished. You can guess which one is not. And it looks to be a royal headache getting it done, but we’ll see.

The Women of Today renewals are due for “early bird” by October 1. In order to get this done, I need to get a hold of the President and have her co-sign the check containing the dues of the people who renewed early and I have to complete a form I do not have.

Wish me luck!

I Don’t Wanna

I’m going to get this out of my system so I can get something done today.

I didn’t want to get out of bed.
I don’t want to work out this morning.
I don’t want to finish up on some Tarot readings.
I don’t want to go to that stupid meeting at McKnight.
I don’t want to finish up on the budget analysis edits.
I don’t want to go out for dinner tonight with my cousin.

I’m already out of bed.
I will feel better after I work out.
I’ve wasted so much time on LJ that the Tarot readings will have to be done tonight now.
The stupid meeting at McKnight is good information that we need–and it’s the reason why I can goof off a bit this morning–it doesn’t start until 9:30.
The budget analysis edits are almost done and then it’s just about ready for public release.
I want to see my cousin, I want to catch up with her, and frankly, I need to go out sometimes. I’ll have a good time.

Okay, let’s get that Pilates DVD and get to work!

It wasn’t a bad day after all. I wasn’t looking forward to all the copy-editing, but I managed to get through most of it. Rant About My Job

It was a long day. I’m taking the first read through of our budget analysis. Exciting stuff there. It took all day to get through the 32 page report. Unfortunately, I caught myself dozing off a couple of times. At the same time, I need to put a final edit on our scorecard. Last week, I had virtually nothing going on, this week I’ve got two of our premiere products to proof/edit.

My boss was in the office , but he’ll be out until next Tuesday because of a meeting our largest funder is holding somewhere–I think it might be DC. He worked from home in the morning and spent the afternoon on the phone. He did go around the office asking if there was anything we needed before he left early. I don’t mean to sound bitter, but I guess I’m a bit nervous that he’s out the week that we’re just about to wrap up the budget analysis and the scorecard and receive the results of our infrequent voter work from last year. Obviously, nothing will be going out this week, so after the proofs are done, I’ll be in a holding pattern for the rest of the week. That means data entry. Yippee.

I’ve posted a few more pictures of the boots here. Both my favorite and my least favorite are in this batch.
