I spent Friday night watching Season 2 of Veronica Mars and knitting my sister’s baby blanket. I had no idea for scale, and I think it may turn out a bit small–like something you could use with a car seat or something similar.
On Saturday I got the supplies needed for Sunday’s Super Bowl get-together. We stopped by the in-laws to wish my FIL a happy birthday, and then met some of DH’s coworkers to go to the World’s Toughest Rodeo. I hadn’t been to a rodeo before (although I did have tickets to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo once but we couldn’t find anywhere to park). The people we went with had been to several–and let’s just say that they weren’t impressed. There was to be a concert to follow, but the sound was terrible in our seats, so we left after the World’s Toughest Cowboy was “crowned”. I had an alright time. Nothing spectacular, but I wasn’t disappointed either.
Sunday was spent recovering from the late night and getting ready for my mom and her husband to come over for the game. I made my boss’ recipe for White Chicken Chili (and it turned out very good), taco dip, and artichoke dip. Not a huge spread, but there was more than enough left over.
DH was fighting a migraine yesterday, but felt well enough by the evening to have people over. Unfortunately, it returned during the night so he’s staying home from work today. Thankfully, migraines are not contagious. He sounds like he’s feeling better–the headache has been reduced to something caused by dehydration, so hopefully he’ll recover quickly.
Today is friggin’ cold, but my car started so I’m at work. Wearing a bulky sweater that I’m just about dying in. Anything less and I’d freeze during the drive to and from work. I’ve got a lighter shirt on under the sweater, but I think for now I’ll leave the sweater on–it’s also very dry in this office and I don’t need the static on top of everything else.
