I’m currently watching an old Eddie Izzard routine. He says he’s a transvestite, and he’s wearing earrings, but he’s not wearing heels and his hair looks a bit little boyish…..
I worked from home today for several hours. I hadn’t planned on working long, but it was one of those days when things kept popping up that were better handled today and not on Monday.
I really should be doing dishes and getting ready to take a long bath. The bath is something I’ve been looking forward to since last night when DH first mentioned it. I really don’t like most of my bath stuff (given as gifts and very perfume heavy), but I’m forcing myself to use it up before I buy more. There are a couple of companies out there that I’d like to try, one of them being Faery’s Tub.
I actually spent time in the local bookstore with money and left without purchasing anything! This is absolutely amazing. I will probably pick up the next book for their book club, 1,000 White Women, but I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to make it, and I’m currently reading The Sun Also Rises, which I don’t particularly enjoy but want to finish it. I purchased 3 Hemingway books two years ago. I strongly disliked A Farewell to Arms, and as I said, I’m not thrilled with this one either (although I may rent the movie because the book is mostly dialogue and I want to see Ava Gardner play Brett). I’ll probably read the third, For Whom the Bell Tolls, and consider my Hemingway exposure complete. Right now, I’m at a bit of a loss as to why he is considered such a great writer. I enjoyed the short stories we read in high school, but I’m not seeing brilliance in his novels.
