So tonight we had the cops stop by. Not because of the drug deals going on right in front of our house but because we now have to appear in court for our dogs’ barking.
I can’t begin to describe how pissed off I am.
Brittany is a pain in the butt. She barks. We try not to leave her outside very long when she is barking. For example, I’m not going to stop nursing Justin to let her in. But for the most part, we try to be considerate of our neighbors–especially since one of them has been leaving notes on our door and calling DH’s parents regarding our dog.
I hadn’t gone over to the neighbor’s because, frankly, the days we’ve received notes, our dogs have been inside. He’s drunk when he calls the in-laws, so it seemed best not to walk over and talk to him at those times.
The cops have woken us up on three different occasions coming into our yard because of neighbor complaints of a barking dog. On all of these occasions our dogs were inside and the culprit was two doors down.
I guess the cops are sick of the complaints because we now have to appear in court. I’m going to call the number on the citation and see what we have to do and how much the fine is going to be. I don’t think we can get out of it, but I am really pissed off. This guy calls on us all the time and he can’t even see the area where our dogs are kept from his house, so he has no way of knowing if it’s our dogs or not. In fact, he still complains about the dog that my husband put down two years ago!
We are going to have to consider what to do about Brittany. She does bark a lot and is very hyper. Unfortunately, this won’t change when we move. And now, that we’ve been cited once, we’ll probably get cited again.
So when do you think the cops are going to come and discuss the drug dealing that DH has tried to report?
